NMME-DREAM

PI Stavros Solomos
Participant National Observatory of Athens

NMME-DREAM model (Nickovic et al., 2001) is configured at a horizontal resolution of 0.2x0.2 degrees to provide forecasting dust fields during the campaign. Forecasting products include 72-hour prognostic dustload maps and time-height plots of dust concentration over Thisio station. Initial and boundary conditions are from the NCEP GFS global forecast. The model assimilates the daily MSG/SEVIRI satellite retrievals of dust as provided by UK MetOffice (Brindley, H. E., and J. E. Russell, 2009) .
