The dichotomous automatic filter sampler provides the ability of simultaneous PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 fractions collection on quartz filters. The PM10 fraction concentration is considered as the sum of the fine (PM2.5) and coarse (PM2.5-10) mass concentrations. The great advantage is the independent operation for sixteen days (or sampling cycles), as filters are stored before and after sampling in internal cassette holders and they change automatically relatively to the program applied. During the campaign day and night-time intervals are taken. The PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 filter samples are pre and post weighed for mass concentration determination and then analyzed for the determination of anions, cations, metals, elemental / organic carbon and water soluble organic carbon.
